Meet Ms. Joann

Joann Barbera brings over three decades of coaching experience to the world of movement and mentorship. Originally from Harrisburg, Pennsylvania, Joann recently made Amelia Island her new home in July 2025. Her passion for working with children and sharing the joy of movement has been a guiding force throughout her life.

Joann began her journey in the arts with dance lessons at a young age, which blossomed into teaching dance and aerobics in her early career. She went on to become a dedicated gymnastics coach for 32 years, helping young athletes grow in strength, confidence, and discipline. Her love for teaching and her ability to connect with children make her a cherished part of any team she joins.

Now back in the studio setting she’s always loved, Joann is excited to share her experience, energy, and enthusiasm with the students of Amelia Island & Wildlight!
