
Alexis Brockway
Alexis is so excited to join the RAD team as the Tap teacher at Wildlight Studio. She is from St. Augustine, FL, and began her dance journey at the age of 3. She was a competition dancer at the St. Augustine Dance Academy for 5 years and was a company member at the St. Augustine Ballet for 10 years. She was also part of the high school dance class at Bartram Trail High School for all 4 years. When she graduated, she joined Noise Complaint, a live tap theater company owned by Jenne Vermes for 2 years.
Alexis began her teaching journey during her time at the St. Augustine Dance Academy at the age of 13, starting out as a teacher’s assistant. She then grew into a full time teacher at the St. Augustine Ballet at the age of 16. She has also taught summer intensives at Zoika’s Dance. She has taught all levels of Ballet, Tap, Contemporary, and Musical Theatre.
Alexis began her journey as a choreographer at the age of 15. She started out making short class combinations,then grew into a choreographer for MainStage productions, such as The Nutcracker, The Wizard of Oz, and the Bartram Trail Dance Recitals. She has also been the Dance Captain for numerous musical theatre productions. She is the Dance Assistant for River City Theatre Jax.
Alexis attended college at the Florida School of the Arts in Palatka, FL. She earned her A.A. in General Education and A.S. in Dance Studies. During her time at FLOarts, she also worked closely alongside the Musical Theatre Department, leading a student led production of 35MM: Musical Exhibition as the head choreographer. She performed and choreographed for numerous events, such as the American College Dance Association, Three Hearts Dance Company, and MainStage Dance Concerts at FLOarts. She also was a collaborative choreographer for the Vocal Company shows and Cabarets for the Musical Theatre Department.
Besides joining the team here at RAD, Alexis is currently working and performing with River City Theatre Jax, as well as other dance and theatre productions around St. Augustine and Jacksonville. She is also a Historyteller at the Oldest Store Museum for the Old Town Trolley Tours of St. Augustine.
