Katie Garrepy

Meet Ms. Katie

Katie Garrepy graduated Florida State University (FSU) in 2022 where she was awarded her Bachelor of Fine Arts degree in Dance Performance. Prior to transferring to FSU, Katie attended Florida School of the Arts in Palatka, FL where she earned her A.A. and A.S. degrees. While at Florida School of the Arts (FloArts), Katie was awarded two substantial scholarships, a talent scholarship and the Presidential scholarship. Katie choreographed many collegiate dance works during her time at FloArts and continued to create pieces while attending the FSU School of Dance. Katie has trained in many different styles of dance over the years that have helped shape her choreographic style. Some of these genres include ballet, contemporary, tap, musical theatre, jazz, hip hop and acrobatics. During her time at FSU, Katie acquired a vast skillset in dance technology, such as filming and editing dance films, creating and editing scores in LogicPro, and dance photography and editing in Photoshop. Within the FSU School of Dance, Katie was an active member of the Documentation Crew and sat as the transfer student representative in the Student Advisory Council. Upon graduation, Katie attended Hubbard Street Dance Chicago company’s summer intensive. Katie now dances professionally with Emily Cargill & Dancers in Jacksonville. She aspires to open an injury rehabilitation center for dancers, athletes, and those in need.
